Damion's Amazon Adventure
During 2016 and 2017, Damion and his family will be raising funds to send Damion on a VESA Volunteer Program to South America. The amount we need to raise is £2,500. This will cover all transport/fuel, visa, food, accommodation, travel costs and an emergency fund should we need to use it to get him home. Damion's latest blood results show he still isn't able to have some of the travel immunisations that he should have when travelling abroad.
Please click the picture above to go his Gofundme page and donate any amount that you are able to donate to get him to South America! We will be holding various events between Feb and May to also raise funds for him. Feel free to come along and support us!
If we are lucky enough to raise MORE than our target, the balance will be paid to The Emily Shutt Medical Fund Expenses. Emily is a 7 year old little girl in Workington, who we have made good friends with during Damion's Leukemia Journey. She was in the bubble next to us for a large part of Damion's transplant process. Unfortunately Emily's transplant failed her in the 1st year after her Transplant and she has relapsed 3 times since. Her life expectancy is terminal. However there is a trial treatment her family are hoping to get her on during 2017 which will be based in London. Her family are fund raising for the cost of their relocation to London to stay with her during this trial, if she is lucky enough to get on it. Follow Emily's story on Twitter - she is 1 of the bravest and nicest little girls we have ever had the privilege of knowing.
Following our "ethos" of having fun while fund raising for Damion, we are held a Child's party on 24th February at the Pirelli Sports and Social club in Carlisle. We raised a massive £345 towards our target! More events and activities are being planned so stay in touch to find out if there's something you'd like to join in with!
